Customers registered in Alberta can use Interac to deposit and withdraw funds through a participating Canadian bank or financial institution.
Before using Interac, contact your bank or financial institution to confirm that it supports the service and that Interac is enabled on your bank account.
Processing times
Interac deposits are usually processed within 1 hour.
Interac withdrawal requests are usually released within 24 hours. The review may take longer if verification documents, additional information or further security or compliance checks are required.
Once your withdrawal has been approved and released:
Banks supporting Fast Funds usually receive the payment within approximately 40 minutes.
Banks using standard processing may take 1–3 working days.

The bank account is registered in your own name.
Your bank account details match the details registered on your account.
Your account has been verified, if requested.

Select the Interac icon.
Enter the amount you want to deposit.
Click Set amount to complete the process.
You will be redirected to the provider's landing page. Follow the instructions shown on screen.

Sign in to your bank’s online banking portal.
Follow your bank’s on-screen instructions to complete the Interac e-Transfer.

Some financial institutions support Interac Request for Money. This allows you to pay a request created by the provider without manually entering your bank details.

Select the Interac icon.
Enter:
The amount you want to withdraw.
Your email address.
Your mobile phone number.
Select Set amount to complete the process.

When using Gigadat, you’ll need to enter your email address and mobile phone number in the withdrawal form.

If Autodeposit is enabled
Your bank account will be verified and your withdrawal will be processed automatically. You don’t need to take any further action after submitting the withdrawal form.
If Autodeposit is not enabled
You’ll be redirected to Gigadat’s secure verification page.
Log in using your regular online banking credentials.
Follow the instructions to verify your bank account.
Complete the verification within 30 minutes.
If you don’t complete the verification within 30 minutes, the withdrawal will be cancelled and the funds will be returned to your account.
This verification is typically only required once. Once your bank account has been verified, future Interac withdrawals should normally be processed without additional verification or redirection.
